Children have the right to be reunited with their families, as enshrined in article 7 and 24 of the Charta of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. Together with over 20 organisations, we call upon the German Government to finally fulfill their promises to fully implement the improvements in family reunification procedures promised in the coalition treaty.

To this end, we specifically demand:

To restore the unlimited legal entitlement to family reunification for beneficiaries of subsidiary protection.

To establish the legal right for minor siblings to join unaccompanied minor refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection.

To implement the current case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union on the entitlement to family reunification of minors who come of age during the procedure and make the necessary legislative changes.

To reduce administrative hurdles in the visa procedure by providing for digital application and to ensure sufficient funding.

To abolish the requirement of language skills prior to entry.
